Test Format and Sample Questions
The Middle Grades Mathematics 5 to 9 subject area test consists of approximately 50 multiple-choice questions. You will have two and one-half hours to complete the test.
Each of the questions will contain four response options. You will choose the best response out of the available options, and indicate A, B, C, or D.
A scientific calculator, such as the TI-30 XIIS, TI-30 XS, or similar model, will be provided at the test site through September 30, 2023. Beginning October 1, 2023, the scientific calculator will be provided on-screen during the test. Examinees may not bring their own calculator.
